The SleeveGun pneumatic source is designed to excite elastic low-frequency vibrations with high penetrating power during regional operations and deep seismic sounding in water areas, during marine seismic exploration. Elastic vibrations are excited by the exhaust of air compressed to high pressure into the surrounding water. It allows to increase the depth of seismic research and successfully carry out work in areas with difficult seismogeological conditions. Does not damage the environment. It is reliable in operation and easy to maintain.

The principle of operation of the device

The action of the pneumatic source of the Sleeve is based on the rapid release of air from a closed volume and a strong impact on the environment, which leads to the excitation of elastic vibrations. In marine research, compressed air supplied from a compressor located on the ship moves the piston downwards and closes the exhaust port. After filling with compressed air inside the cavities and the main volume of the chamber, the radiator is ready for operation. At the signal, voltage is applied to the starting solenoid valve (solenoid), compressed air is transferred from the working chamber under the shoulder of the piston, which begins to move upward. The source has a piston acceleration system that provides rapid opening of the working chamber and exhaust of compressed air into the water, exciting elastic waves.
